A good reminder that we don't have to pretend to know every artist. marley carroll, 'Chroma Falls', on a small outfit called Melanaster Records, out August 21, 2026.

The first few minutes of this I was waiting for it to settle and it never does. Every time you think the floor is going to arrive it lays on another percussion line instead, and the build just keeps building until you realize the build is the track.

I was listening for a drop. There isn't one. Once I stopped waiting, it turned into something I actually wanted to hear again, which is the whole reason to keep doing this column, sometimes the record is smarter than you are.
